All Sorts of Nonsense

Mushroom jar houses, Gold stars that turned fleshy, geodes that light up, Gothic Mushroom and their twiggy friends made from recycling, doors to nowhere, tiny things that have no business being that tiny; lumpy cats with attitude, grumpy frogs with more attitude, anatomically correct gnomes, magic kaleidoscopes, small calm places you can keep with you...

How would I make that? How do I make it glow? How do I make it usable?

There's usually a problem to solve, and often a particular gift I wish to make for someone who's inspired me.

I love finding my way to answers and all the wonderful creatures and things I create and meet along the way. I can't help but smile as I watch them come into being.

Shelf Mushroom Magnets and Canvases

I really enjoy making shelf mushrooms.

Bracket mushrooms have always intrigued me,

and I love spotting them in the wild.

I've been exploring how to create sturdy ones, while also replicating tree bark textures using cardboard, brown paper, glue mixtures, hand sculpted DAS clay and strong magnets.

I finish my pieces with acrylic paint and sealant.

They are all marked with Maker's initials.
