I am so grateful to have weird spawn that inspire and outright demand nonsense out of me. I've been stuck on a lot of projects, not feeling my best and seeing all these things I want to do and feeling no energy, no capacity, no ability to do.
I begged myself to pick something because creating helps me feel better.
And my youngest gremlin gave me inspiration.
A blue footed booby costume. In two days, I hyperfocused a pair of blue feet and a hat sculpted into a giant boob.
I used a pirate hat. The vat of hot glue came out. It was madness. The oldest gremlin said, "how are you doing this?" And I didn't know what to say. I felt like I had been hit by divine inspiration about the silliest construction ever. Some people hit eureka and build an empire, I sculpted a giant nipple I can wear.
It's still a work on progress, but I've settled down my hyperfocus and can step away. Still figuring out exactly how I want to build the foot straps and finish off the hat. Feathers? Ear flaps? The answers need time to stew.
But seeing the big boob out the window, glistening in the sunlight on the back porch. I delighted in the image. How many people will get to see a sight like that?
Am I brave enough to wear it?
